Saturday 9 St Patricks

1. St. Patrick's Day is March 17th (Thursday). Do you celebrate and wear green? Drink Green Beer? Ignore it?
I used to celebrate it more when I worked. I would dress in green, participate in celebrations during the day. Now as a housewife I don't tend to get into it as much.

2. If a leprechaun told you that you could have any amount of money from his pot of gold but it had to be a specified amount for a specified item, how much would you ask for and what would it be for?
$200 000 - so we could pay off our mortgage and buy a new house. 


3. One of the symbols of St. Patrick's Day is the leprechaun. Name a celebrity that you think would look good as a leprechaun. Name a celebrity that would look ridiculous as a leprechaun. Is there any one celebrity that would make a really scary leprechaun?
Vern Troyer, the guy that played Mini Me in the Austin Powers movies would make a great Leprechaun. Arnold Schwarzenegger would not make a good one.

4. For a prize of $1,000,000,000 you are challenged to make yourself a costume for a St. Patricks Day party. The ONLY rules are that you aren't allow to use clothing and it has to be green. Using anything other than clothing, describe your costume to us using ANYTHING else in the house.
Leaves from the plants in our house. I would weave them together to make a dress.

5. What day of the week is your busiest? Tell us about your schedule.
Tuesday. I wake up early to head to my Weight Watchers meeting then we go to Trader Joe's and anywhere else we need to go.

My son.

I am in shock about what happened in Japan yesterday. Japan has always fascinated me and I even speak Japanese and it just hurts me to watch the destruction there.

Saturday 9: Inside Job

1. When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A chef, then a medical researcher

2. Did you ever pursue that career?
In high school I wanted to be a chef so I took Commercial Cookery. Later on I wanted to be a Medical Researcher so I went back to school to do Human Biology etc but neither panned out.

3. If you are not in that field, what changed?
I got pregnant at 17 and became a single parent. Plus I wasn't very good at Calculus.

4. What is your current job?
Housewife

5. What's the best part of what you do?
I have no boss!

6. Do you have plans to do something else down the road?
I would love to get into professional photography.

7. How did you get your present job? If you are a stay at home mom, how long did you need to plan that move?
I had no choice really. We moved to the USA from Australia and at first I didn't have the right to work, now I need my licence and a car which isn't that easy to get.

8. Did your parents influence your choices of jobs over the years?
not at all

9. What advice would you give your children on careers?
To follow their dreams!

Saturday 9: Heatwave

1. It’s July. How has the weather been where you are?
Hot, humid, thunderstorms. I like the last one but I hate the heat and humidity.

2. What is the best way for you to beat the heat?
Be anywhere with airconditioning. I have lived without aircon all my life until we moved to the USA. Australia is one of the hottest countries yet airconditioning is only affordable by the rich!

3. “It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity.” Do you buy that?
I hate both equally so it doesn't matter either way.

4. Do you like hot tubs or saunas?
Not really.

5. What’s the hottest you’ve ever been?
It got to 46 degrees Celsius in Perth once, that's 114 Fahrenheit. I thought I was going to die. And no airconditioning either.

6. How many times do you hit the beach in the summer?
If I have a choice, none. Especially now we live 4 hours away from the coast. I am not a beach person.

7. When you were a kid, what did you do in the summer?
Went to the beach! Haha, I grew up in the tropics of Australia which is pretty much beach, beach, beach.

8. Surfing. Have you ever gotten on a surfboard? Body surf?
I don't get in the ocean if I can help it.

Saturday 9 - Wedding Bell Blues

1. If you have been or are married, tell us about your wedding. If you are not, tell us how would you want it to be.
It was very small & simple. It was at the registry office and the only family member there was my sister. We wanted to have a big wedding with all of our families but as most of them lived either interstate or overseas it was impossible.

2. What age would you encourage your children to get married?
When they thought they were ready.

3. Who got married at the last wedding that you attended?
Me!

4. Do you enjoy weddings and receptions?
I love them!!

5. Have you cried at a wedding?
Yes lots of them!!

6. Would you prefer a lavish event or a intimate ceremony?
I prefer something more intimate.

7. Have you ever been in some one’s wedding party? If yes, do tell.
Yes a couple of times. I was a flower girl for my sister when I was little and a bridesmaid about 10 years ago.

8. Does a wedding make you happy and sentimental or grouchy and sceptical?
They make me all soppy!

9. Why do you think our divorce rate is so high?
I think people marry the wrong people. Luckily I married the right person and am very happily married.

Sadly I think he will be remember for the negative, but I hope people remember him for his talent.

No but I know of it.

No I was a baby!

Saturday 9: Never Say Never Again

1. Do you like James Bond films? If yes, what’s your favourite?
No not really. Too cheesy for my liking.

2. Are you daring enough to go snorkelling in the water fountain at the mall?
Hell yeah! I would do that but the bathing suit would be a different matter.

3. Do you sometimes hate everything and everyone around you?
Not anymore.

4. Do you secretly or openly believe the world revolves around you?
What are you talking about? Of course it does! Stop talking foolishness!

5. Would you rather buy a moped or a Harley Davidson?
Moped. I am a wuss when it comes to motorbikes. So the slower the better.

Neither.

I havn't driven since moving to the USA, so it would be almost a year and I used to do it alot.. I know its terrible. But I only do it if the person is going slow, I wouldn't do it on an Interstate or anything.

Umm probably The Cure, but I can't remember. It's been about 5-6 years. Could have also been A Perfect Circle or Tool.

My best friend Leigh, we have been BF since we were 8 and even though we havn't seen each other for approx 18 years we still keep in contact.

Mainly my husband.

Websurfing is a sport right? I am a nerd, we don't like getting sweaty.

Guest definitely. I couldn't co-ordinate that type of thing! I would forget drinks or cups or something important!

2. Would you rather go to a large party or a small dinner party?
I don't mind either. It depends on who will be there really. If the big party is a mix of people I know and don't know then I don't mind, but if the small party is mostly people I don't know then I wouldn't feel comfortable. As long as I know some people then I am happy either way.

Laziness - I am so lazy.

I am funny, seriously. I will make you laugh...

I can't remember to be honest. I try not to lie.

I kept my pregnancy from my mother when I was pregnant with my son for a long time.

Our anniversary is the 10th Feb so we combine the 2 days into one, we went out to dinner last night to the Olive Garden.

Usually I make a gesture more than give gifts. I have done the gift thing before though.

Marrying my husband.

Working at iiNet (internet provider) it was alot of fun and not alot of rules!

I am from Australia, and now live in the USA. Also been to Tokyo airport 3 times!
